The numbers, up front
These are the real rates. Nothing here is a starting from price and nothing gets added after you sign.
| What it is | What it costs |
|---|---|
| Labor, standard The rate for ordinary daytime work | $150 an hour |
| Labor, overnight Between 10pm to 6am, when we are the only ones open | $300 an hour |
| Call out Flat, and the diagnostic is inside it | $150 |
| Diagnostic Depends how deep the testing has to go | $150 to $225 |
| Pre purchase inspection Anywhere in Metro Detroit, report the same day | $225 |
| Smoke or compression test For leaks and low compression that a scan cannot find | $225 |
Parts are quoted separately with the brand and the part number on the line, so you can price them yourself before you approve anything. Where there is a real choice between a premium part and a budget part, we quote both and let you pick.
Nothing gets touched until you sign the quote. When you sign, the lines freeze at that total. That is one signature that approves the price and authorizes the listed work, so there is no second form waiting for you later.
Common questions
Is the call out on top of the labor
No. If we do the work on the same visit, that $150 is the first hour of labor. You are not paying twice to have somebody drive out.
Why is overnight more
Because it is the middle of the night and somebody is awake doing your job. We are open, the price is just different, and it is on the quote before you agree.
Do you mark up parts
Yes, like every shop. The difference is that the brand and the part number are on your quote, so you can see exactly what you are buying.
What if the quote changes once you are in there
It does not change on its own. If the car needs something we did not know about, that is a new quote and a new yes from you.
Tell us what the car is doing
Text a photo and your location. You get a real answer from a real person, whatever the hour, and a written quote before anybody touches anything.
